85 Broads
 The UQ branch of 85 Broads is part of a worldwide networking club for women from a wide range of professions and backgrounds, seeking to further their careers and employment opportunities. Members will not only have the opportunity to participate in UQ based events with guest speakers and mentors but will also to be able to become involved in a global network where they can make contacts and gain practical career advice from women in similar professions. This is a relatively new club at UQ and students from all areas of study, at all levels are welcome to join and make lifelong friends and open many career doors.

ALP CLUB
Promotes labor and democratic socialist policies on campus and in the general community to work towards these ends
Amnesty International

Anglican Society
 Provides for a full life of worship, hristian fellowship and education for Anglican members of the University and to encourage spiritual contribution as a community.

ANTAR UQ
 Australians for Native Title & Reconciliation for students interested in working to further the rights of Indigenous Australians, and in campaigning for Reconciliation, Native title and a National Apology to the Stolen Generation.

ASS (Aerospace Student Society)
 ASS is one of the newest societies on campus, and is open to all students. Founded in May 2008, we are rapidly becoming an active and successful society with almost a 100-strong member base. We organise field trips to aerospace engineering installations, and arrange for industry professionals to visit UQ and speak about organisation, their career, and other opportunities in the Aerospace Industry. AUJS (Australian Union of Jewish Students)
Provides culturally inviting environment for Jewish and non-Jewish students while promoting Jewish education and expression and hosting fun and enjoyable events with a focus upon maintaining Jewish values and identity. www.aujs.com.au

Provides its members with experience in space technology through educational/extracurricular activities. www.assa.com.au

Baha’i Society
Fosters fellowship support networks for Baha’i students on campus and to introduce Baha’i principles amongst fellow friends.

BEST (UQ Buddhist Education Society)
UQ Buddhism Society promotes Buddhism and traditional Chinese cultures amongst students and the wider community. It organises traditional culture and learning workshops every Saturday.

Big Band UQ
Since its beginning in February 2007 the UQ BIG BAND, under the direction of Clint Allen, has developed into a fine musical ensemble based at The University of Queensland. It has twice performed at the Brisbane Jazz Club, for the 2007/8 Showcase Concerts at the UQ Centre, for lunchtime concerts at the UQ School of Music, Customs House and UQ Open Day, for the Broadbeach Blends of Jazz Festival Gold Coast, and featured as the opening band at the inaugural City meets Country Ball at the Brisbane City Hall in August 2008. In May 2007 the UQ BIG BAND recorded its first CD/EP entitled Band of Distinction. The band’s repertoire includes swing classics and arrangements of songs by more recent artists such as Michael Bublé, Phil Collins and Harry Connick Jnr. Its members include some of Brisbane’s finest young performers. With the strong growth and interest in the band, plans are underway to expand the repertoire, to include other instruments in the lineup, to provide a stage for young talent and to make its presence felt with audiences in South East Queensland and beyond. CCM (Campus Christian Movement)
Promotes the vision and philosophy of the Campus Christian Movement which is to carry out the Great Commission of Jesus Christ by involving students in a dynamic way with the planting of churches worldwide.

Community Social
The UQCS provides an environment that would foster mutual Christian fellowship among the students at UQ and introduce them to local families in the wider community regardless of their denominational or cultural backgrounds. Christian Surfers is a bunch of surfers; guys and gals, that love surfing & skating culture, talking bout life, Livin It all out for God, and yea doing life together… We aren’t into religious activities, but rather livin epic lives in a barrel or on land.

Education Anonymous
Education Anonymous provides a place for educators to network, share ideas and resources and organise social events. The Official aims of Education Anonymous are: 1. To safeguard and advance the interests of students enrolled in the Bachelor of Education dual degree and Diploma of Education (Secondary and Middle Years) programs at the University of Queensland. 2. To provide a forum for educators to share ideas, resources and reflections upon teaching and learning experiences. 3. To promote and foster links between Education Anonymous members and the UQ School of Education, the UQ Education Alumni and other professional bodies associated with the advancement of education students’ career prospects. 4.To provide networking opportunities via social events.

Evangelical Students

Hope Brisbane Club

Liberal Club
A fun and challenging club, dedicated to the pursuit of Liberal ideas and ideology, both on and off campus. Mixing both ëpolitical’ and ësocial’ activities, the UQLC is a great way to meet like-minded people or enter the exciting world of politics.

Logos
UQ Logos club is founded by the Logos Christian Church, aimed to provide a friendly and homely environment for all of our members and anyone who’s willing to join us, especially the overseas students. Our weekly gathering will always provide lunch and a great opportunity to meet new people.

Oaktree Foundation
The Oaktree Foundation is a youth run aid and development organisation, run entirely by young people under the age of 26.
