What’s happening at Visible Ink Valley

Each year young people visit us more than 17000 times to access our space to dance, act, plan projects, start businesses and run environmental groups (you can click here to see a full list of  things young people use VIV for!). There’s always something going on at VIV.

In addition to running a free, safe space in the Valley, we also run a number of projects that create opportunities for young people to trial out new ideas, connect with other people, learn new skills and become active in the life of Brisbane. It’s just another way that Council nurtures a friendly, inclusive and vibrant community and delivers on Council’s 2026 Vision.

Here’s a few of the projects we’re currently working on (click on the blue text to find out more).

youth enterprise iconThe Youth Enterprise Program supports young people to get their ideas off the ground. From affordable office space, to training and networking events, down to micro-grants and a captive marketplace, we provide a range of support to get you started. Partnering with local organisations such as Edgeware, Young Achievement Australia and Human, we ensure all young people have access to initiating their own ideas.

nightrec iconNightRec provides activities for young people on a Friday and Saturday night in response to community safety concerns. Target areas include Fortitude Valley, Southbank and Chermside.
In partnership with local services, police, Council’s Community Safety and Social Inclusion teams, NightRec provides diversionary projects across Brisbane.
